Cables (pulls) for fresh air vent and heater/AC/rear blower fan control cables

Is there any secret to smooth operations of the control cables especially the rear blower fan cable? I have original cables, but they have been out of the car during a frame off restoration...but now they don't pull with ease? Any recommendations? thnaks,

    John -

I hang them vertically, apply a few drops at a time of sewing machine oil between the inner wire and the casing, and work the cables until they operate freely; never have to touch them again.

      Hi John:

I have used silicon spray and also a graphite liquid spray with good success. The other real key is to insure there are no bends that are binding up the cable.

Hopefully you still have them out of the car so getting the casing and cable lubed is easy.

I'm sure others will chime in with alternate ideas. Good luck.
