    PCV finish CV 736?

Quick ques: is the finish natural or zinc? My orig is hard to tell or find evidence of what it once was. found other threads on C2 vlaves but not specific to the 736
    Thanks.

BTW, for the must have, ebay item 170381281846, PCV AC 691 at the bargain price of $799.00

I have never seen a CV-736 that was anything but zinc ("silver")plated. The original valves were a dull zinc whereas later valves are a much shinier zinc. Of course, there were also slight configurational differences between the valves over the years.

      Thanks Joe.

As I clearly qualify in the "too young to have ever seen original" category, can you elaborate on "dull zinc"? I ask because I notice that the TIM&JG references a few parts as having an un-polished zinc finish, such as the voltage regulator base I am also working on- are these two items generally the same level of finish then?

It's hard to describe just what "dull zinc" looks like. However, just think of it as a "silvery" colored finish with no shine, at all, to it. Original 63-69 fuel caps are an example of "dull zinc".

In the "old days", virtually all zinc or cadmium finishes were "dull".

Thanks, I think I can picture that. I will leave both parts as is, they may actualy be OK the way they are.

          Thanks again for the help!
