Remember, if/when you find the radio, it needs the matching antenna to go with it...

This car came with the CB option from the factory....I have the antenna but i need the radio. Will that be ok, or do I need to change the antenna?

Assuming the car has its original antenna (or a correct replacement), it will work fine with an original type radio when you find one.

Another search option are the very large Corvette shows/swap meets such as Carlisle. I see you're in Colorado so I suspect you'll have to go east or west. Not sure what the west coast offers but Carlisle in August is hugh and a great place for a parts search. The last few years, I've come across 78 vettes that were undergoing being parted out and picked up some nice stuff. So if the online search is not successful, consider the on-site search option. Or, keep in touch and if you still need it, I'll keep a look out when I go in August.

BTW, have you checked the 'ususal' places in Colorado for that radio? Those who are active members of the Rocky Mtn Chapter would tell you to ring up:

hi heath,
i actually have one from my 79 trans am. i believe it would be the same. it also has an extra "convertor" box that the mic plugs into. i dont know exactly what this box does. is it something to do with the dual type antenna?
i'd be willing to sell it to you. i only had it in this car because it was ordered with one new. but unfortunatley i needed money and had to sell the car. 6 months later i bought it back because the guy let his 16 year old son drive it and it got totaled.thankfully the kid was ok but the car got destroyed.
