anyone have a source for this part....

i have a '54 Corvette and the part that keeps the hood prop'd open ("hood support" i think) does not appear to be the correct part called for in the NCRS judging guide. the correct part is described in the manual as "the spring/washers are black spring steel".

the hood support on my car has a silver washer, not black one. i saw some '54's being judged in Kissimmee, and three had hood supports supports with a black washer, and one had a silver washer (like mine).

does anyone have a source for the correct hood support? or should i just try to remove the silver spring/washer and paint it black?

    thanks !

    Hi Rick,

There are at least two parts dealers who specialize in C1 parts that I see mentioned periodically, but I don't recall the names and I didn't find them in a "C1 parts dealer" archive search.

Someone will have the answer for you soon, I suspect.

Just take a sharpie marker and make it black. Have done this many times in the past.

Grossmueller's is one that I couldn't think of, the other one is Mary-Jo Rohner, a Google search of her name will bring up her contact info.
