    C1 replacement shocks and judging

I bought the Monroe shocks #5751, front, and #5818, rear as recommended on another thread. My question is, will it help any to fill in the Monroe stampings and repaint for judging? In other words am I wasting my time to do that?

My understanding is that these look very similar to originals.

I would think unless they are the carousel style as originals on the outside, they are going to be a full point deduct anyway.

Wait, I just saw you said 58-60 so scratch what I said lol, sorry.

    Anyone else know for sure?

"I would think unless they are the carousel style as originals on the outside, they are going to be a full point deduct anyway."

How do you conclude this? According to the newly released, 8th Edition, of the NCRS Judging Reference Manual, unless a full deduction is specifically listed for this/that part, then the governing rules are the application of our CDCIF policy based on how the given part differs from a known factory original.

In the case of aftermarket shocks, I'd wager they INSTALL (one of the five CDCIF consideration axes) the same as the factory original and they're COMPLETE (another CDCIF consideration axis). So, I don't follow your logic as to how you garner a full deduction...

I think since you only bought them but didn't install them then you'd certainly be in for a full deduction.
