      There are a number of 66 L36 blocks ( 2 bolt main around Oct 65 ) that were origonally produced for passenger cars , returned to the engine plant, torn down and rebuilt for Corvette production, stamp pad filed out and re-stamped and put back on the line and installed .

        I would love to see one of those pads, and bless the poor individual who has one legitimately in his corvette!

          Hi Steven, If you ever get a chance to meet or take in one of Al Grenning's workshops on stamp pads be sure to ask him about this very topic . He actually has the factory paperwork to back this story up and he can show you .
