Does anyone know of where I could acquire a 3840383 bellhousing? Cars build date is Feb 28, 1964.

These are not rare. You should be able to find one on eBay.

There are 6 of them on eBay for sale right now. However, your original 3840383 would likely not have had any bosses on the sides of the upper portion of the bellhousing (used for clutch cross shaft on non Corvette applications). So, I would look for one with no bosses. 3 of those for sale on eBay have no bosses.
