    L-78 Exhaust Manifolds Repair

Removed the manifolds from the L-78 and want to bead blast them or use some other media to do the job. The #1 Ex port is toast and needs to be either welded then machined to match the others or will follow your advice. Then, need to know "how to" remove the heat riser tube without damage...or is that a pipe dream? Please see the attached pictures.

Again, your help is always appreciated.

I think you could have the manifold surfaced over all the ports and correct the problem.

      Dan,

Your friendly machinist could probably remove the heat tube for you while he's flattening out your exhaust manifolds.

        Dan,

I agree with Joe - good machine shop can take care of both issues - you might have them quote you a price on hot-tanking and bead blasting while they have them.

          Dan,

One more thought while we are spending your $$$'s have the shop remove the flange studs and chase the threads.

You may have the facilities to do the bead blast and remove the studs but if not best left too those with right tools!
