'63 wiper blade refills

Hello all,

Can anyone suggest a source for correct (or repro) '63 wiper blade refills - TRICO 15" with raised dots? I have the correct blades and arms, just need the rubber. I have checked the major parts vendors. None have them with the dots.

Jon,

There are no correct reproductions that I am aware of. You need to find some originals that are still in good condition or NOS, and that may be a challenge. I have managed to collect a few sets over the years but they are very hard to come by. I have seen them come up on ebay, but not very often. I also saw a set of NOS blades and holders at Bloomington 2- 3 years ago and I think the vendor wanted $500+ for them.

I scored a NOS set from John Pirkle a number of years back at his Vendor Booth at a Chicago Chevy Vettefest for $35.00. He told me then they were hard to find and they were the last he had. The price seemed high then, but now I don't think so. Perhaps if you check out the various swap meets; look/ask around, etc., you too may get lucky.

Mine have been on my car since then (used only once to test) in my original and perfect wiper blades, and no one seems to ever notice or care. I've even offered them up at shows to owners of other 63s for judging and got no takers.

Try Pete Lindahl - send him a private message. I just purchased a beautiful set from him for my SWC and he may have another set.
