    Half Shaft interchangability

I need to replace a half shaft for my 68 BB. What years of half shaft fit my 68? i.e 68-74?? also, are the part numbers the same or does this not matter?

    Thanks for your help.

Any 1963-79 half shaft will work. However, to be configurationally correct you will need 63-74 shafts. There is no part number for the half shaft assembly visible on the shaft. The 63-74 half shafts use a 2-1/2" tube; the 75-79 use a 3" tube. However, they are functionally interchangeable.
