95 PKE help

Has anyone ever had any problems with the passive keyless entry on a C4 ? I bought a 95 conv on ebay last summer with 19K miles . I have tried disabling the pke system using the owners man but it still locks and unlocks the doors when you are anywhere near it ( very annoying ) Now I only use the regular keys . Maybe I'm just not reading the manuel right .
Another issue with the car that I noticed and they could both be related is when the car is running and the door is open it keeps trying to lock or unlock the doors until I close the door this being with the regular keys .

I bought a new 86 and had problems with the system. Carry a second key and good luck. Still put over 160,000 pretty trouble free miles on it and loved it. Ed

Ed, the trouble you had with an 86 was probably VATS. ( Vehicle Anti Theft System ) or "chip in the key" The PKE Stan was having trouble with is the keyless remote entry. PKE Passive Keyless Entry. Used from 93 to 96.
