Use the USPS at your own risk.

    Insurance? Have a claim?

Try getting your money back - from the government, never happens, been there done that.

They blame the receiver you get screwed after months of beaurocratic run around. Tracking Another laughing matter, if the little green label is on the package? You are OK? NOT if they just manage to forget to scan it, or the scan does not take, and if you paid for tracking and the other end does not scan it, sorry, no refund. Lost package, etc.

And seamless, sorry Jack - they are disaster. They continue to dissapoint, most recently a foreign originating package arrived at NYC, then sat in Chicago for two weeks. I am calling the ONLY number, Washington central run around...I file a claim, where is my package, here is the number. DO you think they could call someone in Chicago and get them to just send the package to the address on the envelope???

    NO

Let's skip the what was in it as it was a piece of paper and my phone number and address were CORRECT and on the outside of the envelope.

    They sent it back.

Buy anything from amazon, like a watch, an ipod???

Scanned as out for delivery. Oops, our carrier can't find it.

Who pays? Amazon sends another watch, another ipod, you the customer end up paying in an averaged theft inflated price.

Somehow the books never get lost though...

      Re: Long island corvette supply?

I once had a laptop shipped to me from Singapore by one of the large computer suppliers. I tracked it on-line to Chicago (no reason for it to go to the Chicago hub to get to my house), and at that point I called both the seller and UPS and told them it had gone astray. UPS would do nothing because I wasn't the shipper.

Two weeks later (after it had disappeared from the tracking system) UPS admitted it was lost. The seller built a new one. That second one got to me without going through Chicago, but it was several months later. And as Jack pointed out we all pay for the increased cost of doing business this way.

I was tempted to go to the Chicago outdoor flea market (it is famous for its location -- Maxwell Street) and buy my original laptop so I would have two of them.

The point of my story is that the big commercial shippers are sometimes no better than USPS -- not that I am trying to defend the USPS.

I think there is a fine line there someplace as to keeping LOYAL customers, a give & TAKE.
They sent me the wrong trans mount and I tried to tell them that It cost me about 4 hours to find out it was for the side pipe car and packaged wrong. Installed, it would jam the pipes up to the top of the X member on my 67.
All I wanted to do was help them avoid doing that to another poor customer. They cut me off about 3 words into the sentence ever time I tried to talk. They said something like "never in 23 years". I bought one from NAPA 4 bucks cheaper.

This can be an east coast/ west coast thing, but the bottom line is that they know we need them and they can set the rules.

I've dealt with LICS for 20 years and never had a problem.
Whats in their catalog is on their shelf, so its never on backorder and shipped seperate with added shipping cost.
I think they do a terrific job. Bob Jorjorian

          BOB,
I think you missed my point.

I am glad that we have them for parts.

          Here's the BUT.
Why can't they take the time to listen to 1 sentence and head off a problem that twill be passed along to another customer? Who knows it may even be you some day?

If they really care about you as a customer wouldn't you think they would try to correct the problem?

I have customers and welcome anything they point out that will better what I am doing. I listen.

I was told " not in 23 years". Thats a pretty good record of being RIGHT.

All they had to do was check the item part # on their shelf and avoid passing the problem along.
