1954 Vette Chrome Exhaust Tip Length?

for anyone who might own an early 1954 Corvette, or might be familiar with NCRS judging guidelines, i would like some assistance. how far should the rear exhaust chrome "tips" protrude from the rear bumper?

i am about to buy some exhaust extension on eBay (from a reputable seller) to replace the non-factory tips that are on the car. but i need to know how far the replacement tips should protrude from the rear bumper so i can give some instructions to my local muffler shop on creating a mating flange that will result in the correct fit.

What is your Vin.? Early cars had short and later cars had long.

VIN is E54S002026.....in the first 1/3 made for that year.

Your car should have the short tip. My 54 has the long tip. Maybe someone could measure their short tip and pass it along. Also same as 53. I would guess it sticks out 3/4" to 1" beyond the body. If you not having the car judged I would go with the longer tip. You will get less exhaust staining on the body.
