I was looking at some original 327 intake end seals, they all have the tab that sticks out and say GM, are all of the tabs the same configuration (rectangle)....what years are the same, I would post photos if I was smart enough......Thanks in advance JOHN

There were two basic styles of end seals. The first style I believe was used from 1955 to ABOUT 1968. These have tabs over the sides to locate the seals. The second style used peg-like extensions on the bottom of the seals which fit into holes in the block end rails and this served to locate the seals. These were used from ABOUT 1969 until the time that GM went to RTV for the end seals in the late 70's.
As far as configuration of the GM tabs on the end seals, I'm not sure. This is because a variety of manufacturers made these gaskets for GM. Even within a particular part number gasket set, there were multiple manufacturers and I'm not sure that every manufacturer used the exact same configuration for the GM tab on the end seals. It seems to me that I've seen rectangular tabs and "half round" tabs, but I'm not sure. I might be confusing big block and small block gasket sets. I've got a whole bunch of these NOS gasket sets but I'm too weary right now to go out and look at them as the process of digging them out just doesn't enthuse me.
I do recall at least three of the gasket manufacturers, though: "Detroit Gasket" was one which was indicated by a stylized "DG" logo on the side gaskets, "McCord" was another and "Victor" yet another. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: 327 intake gasket end seals
These were NPC parts, started out in the early 50's. This is the last version prior to the change in '69 to the part with nibs and a logo you cannot see once assembled. The design is such that you had to have the holes in the block to use the later design, yes, a couple of these "might" have spilled over into MY69 but my bet is they went to service. On the other hand, the earlier part won't fit the later block.- Top

Re: 327 intake gasket end seals
John, None of your pics are for 63 gaskets. Now since my knowledge is limited to other years let me tell you how the 63 end seals are. A real deal 63 front seal goes around the oil tube hole.
GM logos: I have seen 3 different sizes of font used on the various tabs.
From a very tiny GM that you can hardly see to one like in your nice pics.
Thanks for the nice photo. JD- Top
