Please Help Me ID this BB Radiator

Out of my 65 BB Coupe.

    Number on the top is:

    3007436

Also stamped is: 77 then an 8 is stamped over one of the numbers followed by the letter "M".

Please see the attached picture. Please help me ID this so it can go to an appropriate home.

    Thanks again for your help.

Dan -- that's the correct part # for the 396 cars (except real early L78's). But the date stamp shows it's a GM replacement (Dec. 1978); not surprising after 40+ years. The one in my 396 is stamped 72 L (ie. Nov. of 1972, or maybe even 1982).

Sometimes, rather than an over-stamp, we see a square aluminum tab welded on top of the original date and a new year/month date stamped on the tab.

...and that situation also makes it easy to "convert" a SERVICE-dated radiator to date which is correct for the car.

By the way, the 3007436 was still being manufactured as of 1982 so the radiator you have could have been manufactured then (assuming you haven't had the car since before 1982). In fact, you're better off if that's the case because that obviously makes the radiator 10 years newer. I think the manufacture of these radiator ceased somewhere ABOUT 1984.

All the 3007436 radiators I have in stock are dated 88L. I'll just bet that is 1988 since 1888 and 2088 can be ruled out!
