    1967 Gauge Cluster Date

I just finished pulling my cluster out of my June 15, 1967 built car. The cluster date is Oct 13,1966. Is there any way this could be the original cluster for this car ?

It doesn't seem likely unless it contains a rare combination of options such as speed warning with some engine tach combination/oil pressure gauge, etc. What options does the car have? What does the broadcast label on the back of the cluster say?

Yes the car does have speed minder but it's a base engine car.

I think it should have a green LG sticker on the back. If it does, that would at least mean it's the correct cluster. The date is definitely a problem, though it probably isn't judged.

If the cluster is the "correct" cluster for the that car's production options, I personally don't think the date on the cluster is an issue although it is interesting; but the batch of these particular clusters ordered for Production might well have been around for a while because they were limited in use. Also, inventory control was not their strong suite and the date is certainly prior to the build of the car and if someone replaced it, they got it right. Pete

Speed minder U15 was a total of 2,108 production in '67. Couple that with a low tach of a base engine and your date could be OK. I would assume the clusters were assembled ahead of time. I could be wrong.

The $10.55 cost was not a big investment equal with A02 tint windshield of $10.55. The only thing lower was C48, heater delete a -$97.85 reduced cost.
