Repo windshield trim

I'm about to install a new Sermersheim front end on my '67 and I'm thinking I should install the windshield trim first to get a good fit. The problem is I don't have a piece of lower trim. Is there a good fitting reproduction available or what would be the best route? I read where Paragon has the best clips to use (made in US and not the import ones) and have them on order.

Hi Scott,

Glad to see the Paragon USA-made windshield clips are available again. A while back I read here or over on the CF that they were no longer available, and I couldn't find them on Paragon's website.

About the lower windshield trim, I can't help but think that finding a good used original would result in a better fit and finish, but I am very biased toward original parts or NOS if they are confirmed to be the same as the production line part. Are you referring to the lower reveal moulding, UPC 1ASM-F22, Item 10?

Yes I'm talking about the lower reveal molding. I haven't had much luck finding a used piece ever worth using. Most are bent up from not using a tool to remove them and would require hundreds of dollars of restoration work. I'd be happy to use a repro piece if any of them fit correctly.

I checked my usual sources and didn't find any originals yet. Paragon has a reproduction (Paragon # 6722, convertible, 1964-1967, imported). You might want to give them a call at 5pm eastern time and talk to one of their Technical representatives (available from 5pm to 6pm). In my experience they are very helpful and would certainly be able to tell you about any differences between originals and reproductions, potential issues with fit and finish (if any), etc. Also, if you ask, they might have some good or restored originals available that are not listed on the website.

If you feel like starting a Thread to document the removal of the original front clip and the installation of the new Sermersheim front clip, that would be very interesting
