OT: I need a tutorial on eBay selling of parts

Let's say I have 4 NOS 1966 wheel covers for sale. (This is a legitimatte question, not a back-handed way to sell some parts) I go to "Parts and Accessories" where I use these categoties:

Parts and accessories>Car and truck parts>Wheels, tires and parts>Hub caps

Then I create my listing bu selecting Chevrolet>Corvette>1966

Then I title my item: 4 NOS 1966 Chevrolet Corvette wheel covers>new>factory OEM, add pictures, describe my item, and put in a starting bid.

Then I click "See how your ad will appear in search results". Here's the problem: The ad appears the general section of all wheel covers for all cars, whether they're for a 1936 Chrysler or a 2010 Chevy. I want the ad to appear only in "C2 Corvette parts for sale." I tried putting "C2 Corvette" in the title, changing the category to "Vintage parts and accessories", etc. with no luck. Occasionally I get lucky and the item appears in C2 parts, but not because of anything I did.

This is a problem because last week I had to sell a set of NOS El Camino wheel hub covers for half of what they were worth because the ad went to a general section. BTW, I'm not a parts dealer, and I'm just trying to get rid of some stuff and help out a restorer if possible.

I quit selling on E-Bay due to fees. List it on the CF at the price you want and you'll get it.

      What he said!

I put three 1970 Corvette parts on Ebay, and sold NONE.

I put the same three parts on CF and got my asking price for all three in less than two days.

I hate eBay as much as you do...but CF doesn't let you list non-Corvette parts, and the last things I tried to sell there attracted no interest. These were the NOS Corvette wheel covers with new repro spacers and spinners for a fraction of what I've seen them advertised for. I'll keep trying.

There are lots of forums out there, and they all, EXCEPT THIS ONE, allow you to buy and sell stuff.

Find the forum appropriate for your stuff. You audience is already interested in what you are selling. Good luck.

              Larry, Try this:
              Sign into Ebay.
              select Ebay motors.
              click sell
              Choose "parts and accessories".
              Choose"vintage car and truck parts".
              Choose wheels tires and hubcaps.
              Choose "hubcaps and trim".
Product and category page, choose "skip'.
              Parts compatibility page, choose "skip".
Next you will have to enter title, as Joe Ray said include; Corvette 1966 hubcaps,NOS and whatever else you can fit.
The title is the key to the search function.
Be honest with your description and use lots of pictures
I agree with everybodys comments: Ebay sucks, thier fees are rediculous, PayPal fees are an insult(thier fees are based on sale price and shipping) and so on.
But the marketplace is worldwide and I have had over 1000 sales with no problems.
I believe if you list today and tomorrow the insertion fee is $0.25.
              Good luck
