    Hi Gordon,

    Mine is not great but it's readable. All of the part numbers and names are legible. For the drawing itself, the left hand side of the page is okay, but the print gets very light on the right hand side of the page. I can scan the page at full size and email it as a pdf if that would help,

    Scott

        Gordon;
        Another source other than the ASM is an Electrical Wiring Book put out by NCRS. Its pretty much the same as the ASM manual, but you can read it and it contains data on some optional equipment. You can find this manual in the book section of this site.
        Good Luck

          thanks scott, got it and it much better than mine. i guess these drawings are copies of copies of copies of copies and you loose a little on each generation. i'm putting together a car that i didn't take apart and i'm having trouble with firewall penetrations, speedometer cable in particular. i was hoping this sheet might help. i've got 3 holes, about 1" dia, on the passenger side of the master cylinder, i think one is for vac hoses, one for tach, and one for speedo but another sheet in the aim shows the speed cable thru a hole on the driver side of the master cylinder and i don't have a hole on that side.

            Gordon -

            3-speeds and automatics had the speedo drive on the driver's side of the transmission and used the hole on the outboard side of the master cylinder, and 4-speeds had the speedo drive on the passenger side of the transmission, using a hole on the inboard side of the master cylinder.

            The speedo cable location/penetration/routing is shown in three different places in the Assembly Manual. A sheet in UPC 12 shows it for the 3-speed manual (the "base" condition), a sheet in the M20 section shows it for the 4-speed manual, and a sheet in the M38/M40 section shows it for automatics.
