F70-15 Will these tires work with 63 convert.

    F70-15 Will these tires work with 63 convert.

    I have a set of nice F70-15 tires (Bias ply. tires) I removed from my 72 will these tires work for my 63 conv. with out any rubbing?

    Not on the '68 7" wheels, but there should be no interference if they're on the '63 wheels.

    I'm curious. Why would you want to do this? They aren't "correct" and won't drive as well as a radial. If you bought them for judging on the '68 and are done with that, sell them to another early C3 owner for judging.

      Duke, The tires will be temporary, But will drive the car with them until it time for judging, the tires that were on car when purchased were dry rotted.

        They're going to look really "pinched/puffed-out" on those 5-1/2"-wide '63 rims; that cross-section was designed to be used on an 8" rim.

          Edward, Just make sure they're not too old. There is a date code on the back side of the tire(maybe). If sidewalls or inner treads show cracking, I would not drive on them, especially at highway speeds.

            Rich, the tires are of the repro's and only have a 1k in miles. should be okay Until I buy the correct ones later down the road. as Duke says they are not correct, and with the smaller width rims the tires may bulge out alittle at the side.
