1964 Rear deck lid fiberglass

I'm new to mid-years so please bear with me. On removal of the rear deck lid emblem I found that the fiberglass is doubled under the emblem area and the emblem is held in with barbed sockets rather than speednuts. Is this correct or a repair?

Jay, i put on new rear emblem and it came with speednuts just like the way the fender,nose embles were installed.Underside of the fiberglass should be smooth.See picture. Elio

Thanks Elio, I must have a repair in that area. Will see once I get the paint off.
