    59 carpet/bolt torque-2 non-related questions

I have two non-related questions concerning my 59

    1. I want to replace the carpet on my 59. I looked at CC and Zip's catalog. The heal pad on Zip's carpet is significantly bigger than the heal pad shown on CC's carpet, which is correct? ( I don't know the actual size but if you look at the pictures in the catalogs the difference is obvious)

    2. I'm going to add that small metal tag to my rear end, what is the torque for those bolts that hold the pumpkin?

    Thanks
    Steve

      Thanks for the 35 foot/#

As to the carpet, I just need the driver side. The carpet in the car now was purchased in 1975 from Knoch. I was drilling a hole for the kick pannel and the bit snagged one of the carpet threads and unraveled it about 6 inches. I have a lead on a used driver's side but it has a larger heal plate. I didn't know that there was a difference and wanted to know which is correct.

        Steve,

I have much info on the 59 drivers' side carpet. I went through a big issue with ACC a while back. Zip sells ACC sets. Zip was great in helping resolve the problems.

Send me a PM with your email address and I'll forward some emails with more info than you likely will ever want. This includes info on the heel pad, etc.

edit...fyi the JG says the 59-60 heel pad is apx 7" high x 17" wide and is located about 1" from the outboard accelerator pedal stud. The one on mine which came from ACC is about 7-1/2" x 18".

          PM sent with email addy

          Edit:
The one in my car now, looks like the one in the left/black and white pic. The other one looks like the one in the right or red pic. I assume that the one on the left is the correct one.

I think that left pic is the data sheet that came with my ACC set then. Even that isn't right. Mine in the right red carpet pic is the 7-1/2" x 18"....yes a little wider than it should be. I used it as is.
