Re: All-Tru interiors
Mike, funny that you would bring up Walt Zoern, I thought about him and All-Tru a couple months ago. Seems that in the mid and late70's Walt and his partner (can't remember his name) were the go-to guys for interior items for the early Corvettes. Somewhere around here I still have a sample swatch of his upholstery material for a 53-55.
In the 1st NCRS Driveline, May-June, 1978 there is an ad by " Wildfire Industries, manufacturers of ALL-TRU products" Contact person is Walt Zoern. Funny, I can't find any of their ads in early issues of the "Restorer" when the ads were printed on an inserted sheet of paper. I wonder if he and his partner had a parting of ways. One of the fellas was more outgoing, the frontman, and the other was more laid back. I don't remember which was which.

Re: All-Tru interiors
Walt and his wife lived on Huron Church line in Windsor, Ontario. I visited with his wife about five years ago. he still had the 1957 but did not offer to open the garage door.
Walt had passed away some years before my visit.
The home has been expropriated for road widening and will soon be demolished.
She is a very nice person taking the time to speak with me.

Re: All-Tru interiors
I believe that Walt's partner early on was Bob Chauvin. I bought a set of 55 Nomad seat covers (Waffle pattern same as early Corvettes) from them back in the mid 70's. My understanding is that the company became CARS inc. Somewhere around here I have an early flyer from All-Tru that features the Nomad and early Corvette waffle pattern seat covers. Jerry- Top

Re: All-Tru interiors
I bought some yardage of the first available repro waffle pattern and plain vinyl back in the early 70's to redo my seats in my 56. As I recall, it came in beige only and had to be dyed red. I never got around to redoing the seats and still have the material. the foam is deteriorated some around the edges, but still pretty good otherwise.- Top

Re: All-Tru interiors
Yes, All True had quite a line of products and if I recall the interiors set the standard for reproduction interiors of today. I bought a 1964 Gas Lid Door insert from them in the 70's. At that time the gas lid door passed as NOS because none were available.
RIP Walt!
