Re: 2/2/69 I Totaled my 1969 Corvette
Ralph, about 10 years ago I bought a 69 coupe that was painted maroon with saddle interior. The car had been repainted from original yellow (trim tag indicated Daytona Yellow with Saddle interior). I knew that combination was not available in 69, so I got much of the tank sticker off and it was a COPO, there was a number in the COPO box. That is why the car was a COPO, a deviation in interior color from standard with Daytona Yellow. Base engine car, fully loaded, CA dealer. Best panel fit of any C3 I have ever seen. Nobody wanted to believe me that it was a COPO. Contrary to what some may think, that combo DID trigger a COPO.
