Re: 1957 GF130 fuel filter availability or substitute
Ben Anderson made an excellent reproduction of both the fuel filter and housing assembly 1n the 1980s. The filter was carried by several of the 1955 thru 1957 Chevrolet parts vendors. The filter was identical to the GF130 except for the painted exterior found on the AC filters.- Top

Re: 1957 GF130 fuel filter availability or substitute
Try Gary Pronesti in FL. 407-464-1959. The one that Ben Anderson made was copied by Volunteer Vette in Knoxville I believe. But the owned died and that was the end of that. The repro had an aluminum can with holes in it. It was typically in all the repro filters and available by itself.
Gary may have one left or have a substitute made from paper.

Bruce,
Thanks for the pics and the information. My filter is the one in the center of this picture. It's paper with metal ends. Probably a Fram from all the others found in this box.

JR,
Nice collection of filters.
The filter in the center , the GF48 looks more like the one used in the 61 FI filter can. It appears longer then the GF-130.
Maybe it's just my eyes.

By the way gang. The AC GF 130 came in several finishes. Bare, blue & red. Wonder when we are going to start having issues with the big o'ring leaking cause of the ethanol??? JDLast edited by John D.; February 8, 2011, 03:54 PM.- Top

Re: 1957 GF130 fuel filter availability or substitute
John,
I thought that filter looked like the wrong size.
I think the deep south FI guy might have a viton o-ring for that application.
One of out local rubber suppliers has a ton of good o-rings, I need to measure it and see if he has any alcohol resistent ones.
Keep warm....
