    1971 Color combination

Looking through the Driveline I noticed an ad for a 1971 LT1 in Warbonnet Yellow with a dark green vinyl interior. The seller mentioned that the dark green vinyl was rare. How rare is this interior color?

    Thanks,
    Glen

I don't think green vinyl is rare, but with Warbonnet yellow...... That might be rare. How rare ? I don't think you will ever know.

Thanks Tom. It just seemed like an odd combination.

I've actually see that color combo and it's STRIKING. At first I hated it and then it 'grew' on me as time passed.

Regarding the color, Warbonnet Yellow, it's documented as the #1 seller in '71 with 3706 jobs built/shipped. Brands Hatch Green was the next most popular color with 3445 jobs built.

There are NO statistics regarding compound optioning (this + this - that). So, anyone who tells you this particular combination of options was 'RARE' is pulling it right out of someplace dark and low!!!!

The only way you can get to that position is by 'approximation'. That's where you multiply the individual statistics together (10% x 15%) to get a number. BUT, that's presuming a fallicy...it presumes all options were equally distributed across all cars and that's just plain NOT TRUE...
