62 - Correct Exhaust manifold nuts?

    1962, 340 HP, May 62 build

I have seen conflicting information (at least to me) on what are the correct nuts used on the exhaust manifolds to hold the exhaust pipes/spacers to them.

From the picture in the AIM, it is part number 3671946.

Are they the somewhat long brass nuts?
    or
The what is see called Crimp nuts that have a small shoulder on them?
    Or something else?

    Thanks,
    Tony

Chevy used the crimp nuts with the shoulders on them. I forget whether lock washers were used. I'm not sure if that is judged.

Many restorers use the long brass nuts with lock washers.

This has been posted on the forum before. I think these are called stove bolt??? Pictured is 3/8 sized nuts. Not sure if yours is bigger but I have seen larger ones.
I have some larger ones available.

        Grant and Tony------

All Corvette manifold-to-exhaust pipe flange nuts were 3/8-16 (at least until metric came along in the 80's). The nuts pictured look like GM #3829086 (or, at least, one version of that part number) which were used from 1963 onward.

However, I do not know how the GM #3671946 was configured. As far as I can tell, it was never available in SERVICE. This is a very old part number, probably dating back to the 40's.
