2x4 setup 58 vs other years

Hey guys I have a 58 245hp that I'm looking to get an original 2x4 setup back on it. I have a 2x4 setup from a 61 but one carb isnt' correct since it's the 3181s.

question, if I take off the 3181s and replace it with a 2626s would that be correct? I have a correctly dated intake I will swap the 2627s from the 61 setup to.

from my knowledge the only date on these carbs are in that flimsy tag which both of mine still retain so if I changed that tag to match a close date to my car is that all I would need to do or is there date codes I'm missing thats stamped on the carb?

OR if anyone with a 61 has a 58 setup I will swap with them this setup is very nice has everything chokes, weights, tags, neck, oil fill it's a very nice piece but I am wanting my 58 closer to original. Or if I decide to sell this setup and look for a 58's setup any idea what it's worth? thanks

Brandon - take a look at the casting numbers in the attached. This will help you understand what is different. The casting numbers look the same between 1958 and 1961. You may need to have the rear vacuum hole welded up on the front carb throttle body. I recall in 61 it had an inlet and the 58-60 didn't.

    Good luck,

    Mark
