      1964 Vin # 12197 has a 380 with serial tag 1573.

1965 vin #002 Engine/FI unit, Engine #F0526HG, GM donated, GM test car? 1500 series plenum tag on top of unit stating donated by GM. This engine combo was spotted back in the early 80's. The May 26, 1964 date fits. We have found vin #009 engine, also a FI engine with F0504HG

So.......Serial tag 1500 was the begining of the 380 production?

The serial tag sequence numbers are a whole new question that has never been discovered or explained.

Mike -- slightly off topic but you might want to add '64 VIN 14732; red on red+white vinyl; original KO's, FI unit 380 series, tag #2087. This one had the VIN derivative stamped on the front dog-house boss where the balance tube connects. A Canadian car, delivered to a Quebec dealer.

Slightly off thread topic, but mentioning early '65 units, has there been any progress in tracing the provenance of VIN 00005 ? [seen at Carlisle years ago]
