Seat Belt Retractor and boots for 65
At last years judging in Old Town/Kissimmee FL I was deducted for not haaving Seat belt retractors and boots. My 65' was build on Jan 5th. Folks have told me afterwards that my build date was to early to have them. Having the Vette judged this week again in Old Town and wanted some clarity if I should install them??? Help!!!

Michael, My 65 was built the last week of Dec64. It was built without the boots or retractors. -

Understood, Not sure when the seat belt retractors were first used. Could it be January 1st? No evidence that my January 5th built car ever had them.. I purchased retractors but couldn't find maroon boots. Don't want to install the retractors unless the birth date of the car had them. Does anybody know?????

Now that the topic has been brought up, my Jan 65 coupe did not have retractors. I just asssumed they were missing. My car is a rather original car as well.

Interesting stuff here. If indeed the boots/retractors were brought into production during the middle of the model year, I'll bet the entry date will be different for each color. Existing stock of non booted belts in more common colors such as black would have depleted before maroon.
