Rivet replacement

I need to replace the rivets on the bonding strap on the ignition shield box. What tool is there available to do rivets that may be a problem getting to or in odd places? Simple also… Found one at CC but may not be able to get it in tight spots.

Dale, if I understand what you're referring to this previous thread may be of help, even though it deals with Mid Year boxes.

Thanks for the info. I did see that while looking over the threads. I guess I'll just have to find one of those hand squeezing tools (on line) and press two of those repos onto it. What I was really having trouble with is the rivet for the vacuum hose retainer clamp up by the driver side hood latch. You can't get in behind it without big trouble. Any ideas?

No, I wish I could think of one, because it does sound like a hassle to replace that clamp. But this can't be the first time someone's had to replace this, so hopefully you'll get some other feedback soon. Good Luck

What I did was take a short phillips head self tapping screw (black) filled the head in (JB Weld) and rounded it like a rivet and then painted it black. Looks just like it was riveted in. I know though.
