Need Correct 64 Window Crank/Handle

Howdy,

Looking down into the spline hole of an original crank, the splines start where the cut-out (for the clip) ends. On the repros sold by ecklers and CC and most of ebay, there is a 2mm flat gap after the cut-out and before the splines start. Needless to say this won't work with an original 64-late regulator and my regulators are perfect.

Does anyone know where I can get either a clean original or correct repro handle?

I'd try Doc Rebuild (203) 366-1332. In one of his more recent catalogs; he states that he has 1963-1964 NOS window cranks (p/n 1079732) for $39.50 and nice repro's (p/n1079741)for $19.50. You could also call Long Island Corvette Parts, Corvette Central or Pragon Reproductions. I've had good success ordering good reproduction parts from all of them.

I was looking on EBay last night and found one used original 63/64 window crank. It may not be up to you standards, but the description did mention that it was complete and functional. Sorry but I did not write down the auction number, I'm sure there may be more over time if you can wait.

I may be wrong but were not the '63 and '64 crank handles different in design??

If I recall, the judging manual does not address this difference.
