Looking for a nice pair of shocks for the front and back of my 1961 fuelie , dated would be great. Any information would be helpful. I would also like to find a hardtop for my 1961 fuelie (Honduras Maroon). Thanks David 702-732-3509

There always E-Bay, swap meets etc. Try calling Grossmuellers, Paragon or any other vendor that handles used parts. Since it's not a specific Judged item I guess there is no demand for repos.

Dated originals or (re)stamped replacements are available, but not certain you want to pay that much. They are very $$$$$. But if you do, the ad is in the DRIVELINE. You can also PM me or search the archives for names and contact info.

You can also do what most of us guys do, buy some replacement DELCO or similiar shocks that look close to the originals, fill in any MADE IN MEXICO or MADE OVERSEAS stampings, paint them the correct color, and then add the correct identification decals. This will probably cost around $100-150 to do the car, will likely receive some judging credit, and you will have a decent ride.

There are no decals in 61-62 on the shocks, only numbers/dates stamped into the body of the shock.

Putting used shocks on seems like a big step backwards.But I understand originality is the key here.

You could always stamp dates onto newer units. Gunsmith supplies sell the stamps.

There are no decals in 61-62 on the shocks, only numbers/dates stamped into the body of the shock.

Thanks Mike. The Corvettes built prior to September 1962 have always been a bit blurry to me.

David I have NOS Delco shocks that I can stamp the numbers on them. Will pass judging .They are the same shock Delco used .Call me Dan 913 268 5314 or dpatch2@kc.rr.com.
