    Cigarette Lighter Housing

    Hi
Is it correct that a 1959 not have a Lighter housing with a lamp?
Because my "house" haven't the hole for the Lamp! or should I have a new house.

    Regards Jorn

    Re: Cigarette Lighter Housing

Corvette back to the start in '53 had an illuminated cig socket. Check either your copy of the shop manual or the owner's manual. You should find the cig lighter lamp is called out as a #53 bulb in the electrical spec's section.

So, if your cig socket doesn't have the illumination, then 'Bubba' was in there before you replacing the cig socket and/or modifying the dash wiring harness. The cig socket lamp is a 'clip-on' assy that snaps into holes/slots provided for it in the lighter's power socket retainer...
