While performing the rear brake overhaul, I noticed the body mounts where dry rotted and brittle. The bolts seems to screw in from bottom-up. Is it more complicated than just unscrewing the bolts, sliding in the new rubbers and re-screwing the bolts back in place or will I need to access the inside of the body mount bracket for the replacements. Thanks

Re: 82 rear body mounts
Isaac the body mount bolts screw into a captured nut. If your 82's body mount bolts will unscrew easily, you will have no extra problems changing out this rear rubber body mount. Recommend using grease on the bolt when you install it. Do not remember what the torque is on this body mount bolt.Last edited by Jim T.; January 22, 2011, 05:52 PM.- Top

Re: 82 rear body mounts
Hi Jim, The fix up looks simple but researching the problem I found it can go from a minor to a major fix up. Below is a website that can address the major if needed. I hope it helps. Thanks for the reply. http://www.corvette-restoration.com/..._repairs_5.htm- Top
