    clips on oil pan rail

On my 65 FI car, there are two little clips that go on the oil pan rail to hold the wires going to the starter. Can anyone tell me which bolts the clips attach to counting from the back?

    Thanks

Mike, I think the clips on the oil pan rail are to secure the 1/3 and 2/4 plug wires before they go up behind the motor mounts. I am not sure what number pan bolts they fasten to, but if your car is equipped with ignition shielding, the V shaped shields located below the motor mounts should offer some guidance. Chip.

Thanks Paul. All I could remeber is that they were on the pan rail. With your information I was able to find them in a catalog and they are indeed for securing the plug wires.

This project has suffered serious "mission creep". What started out as some valve pocket blending, changing to original head gaskets and checking to see which rods I have turned into a full overhaul with new crank. rods. pistons, cam ect. If I had known it would be apart so long I would have documented the disassembly instead of relying on memory.

I hope to be done by the end of the month....the original plan was the end of September...

Mike, I am in the same boat with one of my cars. Amazing how quickly a small project can get out of hand. Chip.

My first frame off started with a Saturday afternoon tuneup and ended 2 1/2 years later.Little boys can't resist taking things apart, and some of us will never grow up.
