Question: Overspray on spare tire carrier on C2?

Was the spare tire carrier in place at time 65's were painted at factory? Is there a possibility of body color overspray on rear edge of tire carrier and cover or was this just a shoddy repaint?

It may have been in place when "blackout" was done on the mufflers. What specific tear?

Jack -

No, the body was painted all by itself, long before it joined the chassis, which carried the tire tub. The overspray you see could either be the result of an in-plant Final Paint Repair on the rear valance panel, a dealer repair, or a previous re-paint.
