    Drive Shaft U-bolt or Cap?

    Hi all,
Did the drive shaft for 68 BB use u-bolts to connect to the differential / trans? I know the half shafts use the caps on BB, but not clear if the same was done for the drive shaft as well.
If u-bolts, were they natural in finish or plated?

    Thanks,

    Pat

Patrick U-bolts are correct I am going off of memory but that is what I recall even u-bolt on L88's drive shafts. Finish natural.

Pat, I hope this link works, if so it will answer your first question.

It was posted by Joe L awhile back.

          Thank you everybody,

I think this clears it up for me, drive shafts, BB or SB w Manual are connected with u-bolts, and correctly, my dif yokes are cast straps with hex head fasteners.

U-bolts were on the drive shaft when I disassembled the car, but the differential had been replaced once prior - I could not be certain if it was put back together correctly.

I am guessing that the u-bolts are natural finish?

          Thanks again!
