    1964 jack retainer spring

    Hello all
I am looking to clarify the proper handle on the end of the spring. My spring now in the car has a single loop handle attached to the end of the spring. I also have another identical spring I found in my stash that has a double loop handle attached to one end. The Tech manual says a single loop handle. Do I have a handle on one end only and is it supposed to be single or double loop? Or is there a single loop handle on one end and the double on the other end? How do you attach the spring to the hold down catches?
    Help appreciated.
    Thx

    Ralph,

It's a single loop at the end but your "handle" is a little confusing to me. Describe the handle please.
The hold down spring consists of one loop of coils on one end and the wire hook on the other. The hook of coils attach to a bracket in the bottom of the jack compartment.

      Ralph,

I have a photo of the 63-64 jack handle spring on a thread entitled "1966 lug wrench, 1 or 3 hole". It was posted Aug. 28, 2010, at 01:33 PM.

          Thx for the info guys
I should have called the fabricated parts on the end of the spring either single or double loops. I now think the end of the spring fastens to the floor near the base of the jack and the single loop (for my 64 ) pulls the spring over the jack and fastens it to the other side of the jack. My confusion came in as I was under the impression that the jack hold down spring for my 64 needed a double loop instead of a single loop.
          Thx
