      1. Took almost 6 weeks for an item (rebuilt generator) to ship, that I was told would ship in 4-5 days when I initially inquired about making the purchase.

      2. Very non-responsive to emails and never returned my phone calls. When I did get an email, they changed the story along the way as to why it did not ship with contradicting reasons.

      3. Did not ship the item until I filed a paypal dispute for non receipt of item.

      4. In the end I did get the item and it was very nice, but very aggravating along the way and I felt like I was being scammed.

My experience with them was similar to Anthony's. I ordered a fuel pump from them. When I didn't get it, I called. At first I was told that it had shipped. Then the story was that it would ship the next day. I got that story from Robert several times. After getting nowhere with him, I started calling Al every day. Eventually I got my fuel pump. But after all that aggravation, I would be very hesitant (to put it mildly!) to ever buy anything from them again.

          Very odd situation with CC.

A guy who has been in the Corvette parts business since the early 70s, has an impressive inventory of hard to get parts, provides restoration services as well, very savvy with electronic marketing/sales on ebay.

Why would he choose to run the business like this when he could do quite well running it responsibly? Seems like it would be a huge aggravation to always be fighting with your customers and intermediaries such as PayPal and the credit card companies, not to mention the occasional attorney. Then whenever you go to a trade show you run the risk of being accosted by irate customers. Every time the phone rings you have to dread it, etc. etc. A guy like this could be a respected leader in the industry, but apparently prefers to be a pariah. Odd.

As far as problems, the most common complaint I see is not shipping parts in timely manner (or at all), and lying or ignoring inquiries about same. This is obviously despicable, but if you pay with a credit card the charges can be easily reversed.

An even bigger issue to me is the implication that "fakes" are being created with restamping of parts and other techniques to create difficult to find original parts out of repros or similar GM parts from other cars. This is less talked about but a big concern. If this is happening, it has likely been going on for years (decades even). How many fakes are out there unbeknownst to unsuspecting members?

I can tell you this much....based on what I've read about this person/outfit over the past few years I will never do buisness with them regardless of what he has that I need.

In fact, I recently passed on a correctly dated distributor tag offered by this guy on eBay when I saw who the seller was. It was a chump change purchase of a few bucks, but the risk of "dealing" with this thug wasn't worth it to me.

Tracy, I am with you, Not worth the pain.

Why do this to your customers?

And those restamped carbs...LOL...so easy to spot, real issue there is that these usually go to the unsuspecting.

I was also in the market for one of those distributor tags he had for sale on EBAY. When i realized who it was selling them, I forgot about buying the tag even though it was "only" about $30.00.

I agree with the earlier post that this guy could make a ton more money and satisfy the Corvette crowd immensely more if he was a bit more of a business man.

Bought one thing from this company years ago, but have no recollection of service.I do remember those that have and have not given quality parts and service and have no problem publicly critisizing or complimenting those that deserve either. I think there are more good vendors than bad, and the good ones deserve our business.

I have bought a couple of items from this supplier with no issue's at all. I will continue to buy from them until I have a problem.

I hope for your sake that the issue you will eventually have down the road does not cost you hundreds of dollars pr more. You keep sticking the stick in the hornets nest; eventually you get stung.

                          Dan,

Hopefully that day will never come and until it does then I will address the problem then. Problems can happen with any supplier or an individual as I have had issue's over the years with both, that's just part of the hobbie.
