I've seen pictures in the archives of anti-squeak glued on the gas tank itself; What year/s did GM do this? And why can;t I look at the pictures in the archives? How? David

Re: 65 gas tank anti-squeak
I can't tell you about the anti-squeak, but for the pictures -- before this site went to vBulletin the photos had to be hosted by the poster on a web site. If the web site has changed URL (web address), or the poster not kept up their account, the pictures are gone forever. Since we began using vBulletin NCRS is hosting the smaller thumbnail pictures. The larger images are still hosted elsewhere and eventually they too will go away.
Sorry to burst the bubble of those who think the web is forever. Some parts of it are, but not all of it. My experience is the parts you don't want everyone to see are around forever, the items you want to find are gone.Terry- Top

Re: 65 gas tank anti-squeak
David, The antisqueak material was glued onto my tank. See UPC8 B2.
It is a felt material (tar like impregnated with embossed pin hole pattern .100" thick). It is 2 short pieces, a medium length piece, and a full tank width piece.
I posted photos at this website of the original antisqueak on the tank.
