    63 wiring harness ties

    Hi,
Can anyone post some detailed photos showing the correct installation and placement (location) of the late 1963 engice compartment, passenger side, push in black plastic ties? I need to see exactly where the holes are, and what is tied (electrical harness, radiator balance hose, or both) at each of the 4 locations. I have reviewed pages c186 and c202 of the AIM and concluded, I need some pics!
    Thanks

    Alex,

Don't have any pics I can post, but the routing of the wiring, overflow tube etc. on the LATE 63 is just as it is on 64 and up.

The early 63 had the routing on the low side of the fender and was just another one of the "one offs" the 63's exhibit!

63's used the opaque ties not the black ones. Sorry, but I have no pics.

            Alexander,
Here are pics of April 63 car which I took during disassembly. The harness/expansion tank hose/black push ties have never been touched except for 70's overspray. An interesting note there where two holes drilled for the push tie in front of hood support. Not sure if UAW worker drill one and push tie didn't line up then drilled a second.

Sorry, I've apparently confused the ties used on the cowl with the ones the OP was asking about.

                Hi Jeff,
Those are great pics! I will me able to approximate the hole locations and determine which are correct. My the inner fender also has more holes than there should be. Thanks for your help and for all those who also responded.

One reason you may see extra holes is that application of one of these ties is like a one time proposition. You can not reuse them, and the holes in the inner fender panel will enlarge over time, specially the one by the strut. My solution has been to fix the hole, not add a new one. Incidently, the one by the strut may differ by whether it is an early car or later car as they routed the hose inside the strut on early cars, and outside on later cars. I'm sure you can resarch to determine the s/n cutoff point.
