    C1 door window track finish

I have cleaned, primed and painted a number of my door/window interior track pieces. Now I am wonder if these will be durable enough or if I should send them off for plating.

Where the pieces in the attached photo orginally zinc/cad plated?

I have cleaned, painted with etch primer and Eastwood clear zinc paint.

    Thanks,

    Don,

Does anyone know the original finish?

      Don -

I believe the originals were zinc-plated; they were on my 57's.

my multiple 56 and 57s and 61s and 62 are zinc as john mentions. however, i believe all you've done to preserve your pieces will outlive your great grandkids. i simple clean and coat mine with thick brake shoe lubricant. its yellow like was originally used and acts as rust preventative. mike

          Thanks Mike,

Do you know off hand what specific product you use? I'm not familiar with a yellow lube.
