Holley Primary Metering Block Replated 4743

Found a used original 4743 primary metering block in very good condition. I assume that a 4743 primary metering block for a Holley carb should be plated the same color as the rest of the carb, correct?

If so, what is the plating and where can I get it done. Thanks.

most any carb rebuilder can dichromate it for you. check the gasket surface on the power valve side for flatness as it may need to be straightened so you get a good seal

      Hey Clem,

Which surface do you mean - pic 1 or pic 4? Thanks.

Pic #1 is the power valve side.

          Kirk,

Take a look at this post for the finish on the metering block and fuel bowls:

          https://www.forums.ncrs.org/showthre...ht=Holley+Carb

Also take a look at this post on straightening the metering block:

          https://www.forums.ncrs.org/showthre...73526&uid=7853

The metering blocks in this post are for a 3810, the replated one is a 4743.

Send me an email, if you want to send it to me to do the refinish on the metering block. It is not a big deal, no charge, I'm just a hobbyist.

Thanks Gerry, I will consider it. I am exploring my options at this point and am leaning toward the place I purchased my restored carb from assuming the color might be close to a match. An assumption that I realize is stupid!
