    Re: rear axle code?

177 w 8 e 1= 177th day of 1978, Case was made at Warren, positraction at Eaton. I don't know if the last number (1) is the shift or the assembly line. I think I can look it up at home, but it is no great matter.

To figure out what the 177th day of the year is I have a Julian Colander at home as well, but they are on line also. June 25 or June 26 depending on Leap Year or not. You can hunt that down on the 'net if it is important to you to know.

Ok is the broadcast code for a 3.08:1 rear axle positraction ratio. In 1981, OK was the code for a 2.72:1 axle.

This will give Terry a few extra winks and he won't have to stay up late and search for ok codes.
