    65 FI and F40

    Can it be confirmed that all 65 L84 cars had to have F40?
    Thanks

    I can confirm that F-40 was NOT a requirement with L-84.

    The only engine options that ever required HD suspension were L-88 and ZL-1.

      John -

      Nope. F40 was only available with L84 or L78, but not required or included with either.

          I have an original FI 65 car with F40. My 65 seems to have been someones racer dream that didn't happen. I have seen many original FI cars without F40. Jerry

            Hi Jerry,
            I have a 65 with F40 also and I think I got the wrong idea about F40 from Nolans book, miss-read the info.
            Thanks,
            John

              John;
              I have a 65 Fueler that I bought new. I did not go for the H.D. Suspension as I was interested in going fast in a straight line only and didn't want the extra weight. It was great fun and still is thanks to
              NCRS. A BOWTIE AWARD is not quite as much fun as shutting down the top dog in town and taking his place, but it is still good fun for an old guy, these days.

                Ken,
                as an original owner, please tell us more about the car and your experiences with it. I have a '65 fuel injected car, myself, but didn't get around to being born until '67.

                  George;
                  I don't want to hi-jack the thread, but would maybe talk about it on another. My posted picture was taken the morning after I picked up the Black 65 Fueler. I was 20 at the time and all smiles
                  Thanks.

                    I also have a 65 FI coupe with f40. And I would say that they are one of the better mid year cars I have had. Drive and handle great and run just as good. A lot of fun to show and drive. Jack

                      Ken,
                      please start another thread. Also, when you do, please post your picture in a post so we can see it. It is very small in the avatar. Maybe the thread could be for '65 fuel injected cars.
