    Chrome plater, Philadelphia area

Looking for a good plater in the Philadelphia area for bumpers and such from a 1960.

I prefer to deliver and pick up rather then ship the parts.

It would be a long ride, but Paul's Chrome in Evans City does great work and knows our vintage cars.

    Regards,

Jerry Martin of Charger Metals does excellent work. Jerry is the son of Harry Martin of Martins of Philly one of the best t plating firms in Philadelphia that unfortunatly went out of busness a few years ago.

I absolutely agree. He refinished my knockoff spinner. Removed the dents, preserved the writing adn rechromed -- it came back perfect and in a reasonable time (1 week).

Third one in for Jerry! Not only did he do a fantastic job on three bumpers for my 72 (also in one week), he polished a bunch of stainless and new chrome work for my friends Edsel. On top of that he gave me door to door service, (he lives nearby).

Thanks all. I'll give Jerry a call.

I like the comment about teh spinner. Maybe he can handle the ones from my 60 as they need some help and I don't really want to by repros.

4th one here for Jerry Martin . He did all the chrome on my 61 about 8 years ago. Absolutely gorgeous and looks as good today as it did when I first got them back.

I spoke with Jerry this afternoon. We will be getting together in the next few weeks once I can get the parts off of the car. It needs to get a bit warmer here in PA before I get back out in the garage...........

Sounds like Jerry has a great reputation. Would you please post his contact info so I can give him a call? Gotta do front and rear bumpers for the '66.

                  Thanks,

Try DGM Plating (8301 Torresdale Ave, Phila., 215-331-0960). They did a great job on my midyear bumpers as well as polishing my stainless trim and hub caps. They do a lot of Harley work as well.

If you want to talk with the man who knows absolutely everything about solid axle cars, call Dick Robinson at Robinson Restorations in Huntingdon Valley, PA [(215) 947-2272].

                        Jeff,

Thanks for the info. I just spoke with Dick, nice guy and a good resource to bounce questions off of. I'll be stopping by his shop in the not too distant future. He is located probably less the 10 miles from me.

                          Tom,
You'll be amazed! You may also want to consider hooking up with the NCRS Del Val Chapter. Nice bunch of guys - many with years of solid axle experience. I believe Dick is one of the founding members. Good luck.
