1974 corvette rear view mirror map light bulb replacement problem

I removed the small brass holder with the bulb in it from the mirror thriugh the bulfb replacement hole

I replaced thge buld in the brass holder and pushed thge holder and buklb back in to the mirrror. i used thge correct replacement bulb

The problerm is that thge bulb and holder are just completely rolloni around inside the mirror

How do i attached them to the brass switch ends

(note: the bulb and holder were losse before I removeed them but the buld was burnt out)

Is there a way the mrriror can be taken apart also

William,
The brass clip that is part of the holder needs to be extended enough to touch the grey wire at the top of the mirror when the switch is slid to the on position.
Try, in small increments to make it "taller" so that the function can be accomplished.
Also remember that it works only when the car is running or in ACC position.
