Can anyone recommend someone in the San Jose, CA area I can speak with about getting a 1973 checked out?

Glen, I know someone in Morgan Hill who takes care of cars for collectors and is very talented, and easy to talk to. He has a well equipped shop at his house with lifts, etc. He is not Corvette specific, though. If you want a condition evaluation, he is well qualified.

For mechanical stuff, David Bonar at North Star Corvettes in Mountain View (650.969.3134 or vetrepair@aol.com). He is sometimes slow to respond to email. He's good for the engine, transmission, steering, brakes and suspension, but he's probably not the guy for other components, such as the radio or any power accessories, or for cosmetic details.
