    wiring to change from standard dist to HEI dist?

    I have 73 Corvette and changing to HEI dist. what wiring do I need to change? Thanks

    The wiring is the 'easy' part, you need a 12V switched source connected to the batt terminal of the HEI unit. There's two drawbacks to generic HEI units- the advance curves are a complete unknown and could be a step backwards from what you've got now. Don't forget also that you'll lose the function of the existing tachometer and need to convert to a '75 and up electronic unit.

    I'd sooner keep the original unit and do a once a year dwell adjustment and once a decade points replacement.

      ...or you could replace the points with an electronic switch.
